You’d look better without a hijab

“You’d look better without a hijab!” or “You’d have more opportunities if you took it off.”

I’ve heard it all.

Maybe I would.
But I didn’t wear it to look better — I wear it to live better.

And I didn’t wear it to chase opportunities that go against my faith.

“O Prophet! Ask your wives, daughters, and believing women to draw their cloaks over their bodies. In this way it is more likely that they will be recognized as virtuous and not be harassed. “

(33:59 Quran)

FOLLOWERS Q&A

“How can I love my hijab?”

Here are 7 things that helped me fall in love with hijab:

1/ Loving hijab starts with loving the One who asked for it. Make time daily to study the wisdom behind it —it’s not hiding beauty, it’s highlighting the soul.

2/ Spoil yourself a little bit. Treat yourself with a few beautiful and stylish modest wardrobe pieces — or get yourself a silk hijab (I’m obsessed with silk).

3/ Wear it more outside (if you just started). The sooner others see you in hijab, the quicker you'll feel comfortable in it every day.

4/ Forget the noise, the comments, the judgment. This is Between you and Allah SWT.

5/ Remember: any door that closed because of your hijab was never your rizq.

6/ Make sincere Dua to Allah SWT to inspire your heart.

DUA FOR HIJAB

O Allah, I ask You for steadfastness in wearing the hijāb, and that I not be seduced by the adornments of this world, and make me among those who succeed on the Day of Judgment, O Lord of all the worlds.

Allāhumma innī as’aluka ath-thabāta ‘alā lubsi‑l-ḥijābi
wa an lā tuftanī bi‑maẓāhiri‑d-dunyā,
wa aj‘alni mina-l-fā’izīna yawma‑d-dīn, yā Rabba‑l‑‘ālamīn.
