If a woman doesn’t wear hijab, will she not enter Jannah?
Before we judge, let’s understand what Islam really says.
Let’s break it down.
First:
A woman who prays, fasts, believes in Allah, and follows the core of Islam — but does not wear hijab — is still a Muslim.
She is not a disbeliever.
She is committing a sin, but it doesn’t take her out of Islam.
Just like the woman who does wear hijab, but may backbite, watch haram, or disobey Allah in other ways —
or the man who grows his beard but exposes his ‘awrah at the gym.
We all have flaws. We all sin.
Some sin publicly, others in private.
But the severity of a sin also depends on the reason:
Is she not wearing hijab because she’s scared of family pressure? Work? Society?
Is it because of an inner struggle? Or ignorance?
Or is it because she believes hijab isn’t even required?
The last case is more serious —
Denying a known obligation is not the same as struggling with it.
Also, there’s a difference between:
Not wearing hijab at all
Wearing tight, revealing clothes
Wearing a modest scarf, but not full hijab
Each step closer to obedience is still better than walking away from it completely.
But here’s what truly matters:
Allah knows the heart. He knows the struggle.
He knows what we hide, and what we fight silently.
And because she is a believer —
Allah may forgive her. He may punish temporarily.
But ultimately, if she dies upon lā ilāha illa Allah, she will enter Jannah.
So rather than judging ,ask gently: “Why don’t you wear hijab?”
And even if you don’t understand her reasons — make dua for her.
Because on the Day of Judgment,
you don’t want to be the one pointing fingers —
You want to be the one Allah shows His mercy to.
With love,
Maria
